Welcome to our Kids Congress 2006 blog site. Here we intend to express and explore 21st century issues that are important to us and also to challenge you to contribute to our conversations.
Over the last six months we have discussed and clarified with our classmates issues that we feel are important and have come up with the following key strands:
* Physical Health
* Human Rights
* Emotion Health
* Animal Rights
* Safety/Water (local issues)
* Environmental Issues
These strands each have their own blog page which can be accessed via the menu on the right-hand side, along with links to other relevant information.
Kids Congress 2006, to be hosted at Challenge Ranch, is a unique event for approximately 120 Year 5 students from schools in the Diocese of Broken Bay, Sydney, Australia.

Kids Congress 2006 provides 21st century students with access to 21st century learning environments to explore 21st century issues.
Kids Congress 2006 has been “designed for kids and organised by kids.”
The following video clip (from the USA), is just an example of what kids can actually achieve.

Hi Paul(s) and all the kids.
This is a terrific project! Congratulations on organising a great event, but also generating such a wealth of podcasts. This is an outstanding contribution and I will share your work with others – I know it will be an inspiration.
Thanks!

Hi Tom
Greatly appreciate your comments. Your words of encouragement mean a great deal to us as we know how highly you are regarded on the World ICLT scene .
We are inspired by your passion for the use of ICLT in Learning and Teaching. As a diocese we have gained much from your inspiring workshops and your wisdom.
Thanks for your support.

Hi Paul(s) and all the Mentors
From the perspective of a parent may I say a huge cogratulations to all of you for what you have achieved with Kids Congress 2006.
I was blown away by the presentations produced by the kids , the access thay had to the fantastic technology made available to them and the respect accorded to them for the ideas which they generated.
Our kids are capable of so much and it was a privelege for them to be allowed to run with their ideas and hopefully the momentum will continue.
Hi Cutty
Thank you very much for the feedback. We appreciate your kind words. The kids were wonderful and parents should rightfully be proud of their achievements. In today’s technology rich environments, kids have greater opportunity than ever to contribute to society and collectively make a difference. With the right learning environment and encouragement, they’ll fly!!
Cheers
Paul M.
